The Michaelmas Reckoning — Case File No. 1: Death at Wyvenhall

This chest holds the steward's private papers and the statements taken after the inquest. Each seal yields to the right answer, worked out from the printed evidence. Spelling is forgiving; a number may be written as a word or a figure. Seal VII stays fast until four others are broken. When you are ready, name the felon at the foot of the leaf.

The Accusation

Choose the felon, the cause and the means, then give the marks (the small codes at the foot of each document) of three proofs, each from a different kind of writing or thing. Your verdict is judged once you submit, and the full reckoning is read to you.
